1.  Preamble:

 

At Sarita Handa Exports Private Ltd. (SHEPL), we are committed to:

  • Uplift the personal health and hygiene of young women in government schools and thereby empowering women.
  • Enhancing vocational/professional skills of women.
  • Contribution to Prime minister’s Relief Fund or any other fund set up by the Central Government for socio economic development
    and relief of women. Our strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives actively work towards these goals
  • Education of children, especially girl child.

 

 2. Purpose:

 

The key purpose of this policy is to:

  • Define what CSR means to us and the approach adopted  to achieve this goals
  • Define the kind of projects that will come under the ambit of CSR
  • Identify broad areas of intervention in which company will undertake projects
  • Serve as a guiding document to execute and monitor CSR projects
  • Elucidate areas of partner implementation agencies, when required.
  • Explain the manner in which the surplus from CSR projects will be treated.

 

3. Policy Statement:

CSR Policy focuses on addressing Girl student’ health and hygiene and enhancing vocational skills of women.
Through this policy, we will align our CSR initiatives to create social impact.

 

4. Scope of CSR activities at SHEPL:

 As a practice, we classify only those projects that are over and above our normal course of business as CSR.
The CSR projects will be reviewed and updated from time to time.

 

5. Normal course of business:

SHEPL is engaged in the business of manufacture and export of items of home furnishing such as quilts, bedding linen, table linen etc. As a company, we are committed to providing quality productsto our customers, creating economic value for all our stakeholders, and we assign high priority to ensuring that we fulfil all regulatory requirements.

 

6. Ensure personal health and hygiene of girl students and enhancing vocational/professional skills of women.

Through CSR initiatives, we intend to

  • Provideunderwears and vests to girl students in government schools.
  • Education on personal hygiene and menstrual health will be conducted in these schools
  • Mothers of these girl students will be given education on personal health and menstrual and maternity health
  • A holistic health awareness programme amongst girls and women connected to the government school will be created.
  • Appropriate steps will be taken for providing education to the girl children.

 

Our CSR policy contributes to the SHEPL goals by adopting projects in the following areas of intervention defined in schedule VII of the Companies Act:

  • Empowering women
  • Enhancing vocational skills of women
  • Promoting education among children.

 

7. Governance Structure:

We have constituted a robust and transparent governance structure to oversee the implementation of our CSR policy
in compliance with the requirements of Section 135 of Companies Act, 2013.

 

 7.1   Board level CSR Committee:

At SHEPL, our governance structure will be headed by the Board Level CSR Committee that will be ultimately
responsible for the CSR projects undertaken. The Committee will report to our Board of Directors.

 

7.2   Members:

  • Mrs. Sarita Handa
  • Captain Rahul Puri
  • Ms Suparna Handa

 

 7.3   Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and update our CSR policy which will be approved by the Board of SHEPL
  • Suggest areas of intervention to the Board
  • Approve projects that are in line with the CSR policy
  • Put monitoring mechanisms in place to track the project of each project
  • Recommend the CSR expenditure to the Board of SHEPL who will approve it
  • Meet at least twice a year to review the progress made.

 

 8. CSR Implementation Team:

The CSR initiatives will be implemented by the CSR Implementation Team which will report/ give feedback to the CSR Committee for all CSR projects undertaken.

 

9. CSR Budget:

The total budget for CSR will be decided by CSR Committee.

 

10. Treatment of Surplus:

The surplus generated from CSR projects undertaken by us will be tracked and channeled to the CSR funds.
These funds will be further used in development of CSR projects and will not be added to the normal business profit.
